What is SkillIndex?

SkillIndex is an independent index of AI agent skills, MCP servers and reusable agent skills. It turns scattered repositories and documentation into records that are easier to search, compare, and evaluate.

What gets indexed

Every record points back to its source. SkillIndex captures the signals that matter when deciding whether something fits your stack: supported clients and runtimes, installation methods, repository activity, licensing, documentation, and related alternatives.

Why it exists

Agent tooling is evolving faster than conventional software directories can describe it. Names are inconsistent, capabilities overlap, and the useful details often live several links deep. SkillIndex is designed to make that landscape legible without flattening every resource into the same generic listing.
